Artist Statement

My style is primarily Impressionistic, with influences from the English Symbolists and the Russian Avant-garde. My color palette ranges from light and luminous to dark and atmospheric, depending on the subject and mood of each work.

My two-dimensional works on paper incorporate pastel, pencil, ink, and charcoal to explore composition, form, and atmosphere. My subjects range from still life to figurative work, and I am currently experimenting with architectural renderings, exploring the relationship between structure, space, and visual expression. 

Biography

I studied with Professor Philip Pearlstein at Brooklyn College, where I pursued honors-level studies. My artistic practice has been closely connected to the Brooklyn arts community for many years. I have been a member of the Brooklyn Waterfront Arts Coalition since 2007 and the Westside Arts Coalition, exhibiting regularly with both organizations.

In 2012, I participated in the Brooklyn Museum’s sponsored GO Project, and from 2012–2013 I submitted work to VERGE at the invitation of Michael Workman. I have also exhibited with AIR Gallery, including its 25th Anniversary exhibition, Generations IX, and have been invited to exhibit at Agora Gallery in New York.

My work has been exhibited in galleries and arts organizations in New York and beyond, including exhibitions in Manhattan and Florida. I continue to participate in group exhibitions and submit my work to museums, galleries, and arts organizations throughout the region.
